About us

The Cult is a multi-award-winning PR agency created by a team of former national newspaper and magazine journalists.

We benefit from a special kind of knowledge that precious few agencies can boast - first-hand experience of life in a bustling newsroom. Whether it’s men’s magazines, women’s magazines, tabloids or broadsheets, members of The Cult have the bylines to prove we know what makes them tick.

Unlike many other PR agencies, we pride ourselves on representing a wide variety of brands, personalities and charities because we believe that good PR shouldn’t be restricted; strong ideas and a solid network of contacts can make anyone or anything sparkle in the press.

And our varied roster complements each other, opening new opportunities and bolstering each other’s press appeal.

Four PR awards in the agency’s first three years show that what we do not only works for our clients, but also grabs the attention of those inside and outside the industry.

And, more importantly, we have fun doing it - and we believe it shows in the creative and imaginative campaigns we create each day.

WHO WE WORK WITH

We’ve worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, top personalities and some of the most exciting and innovative new companies we can find.

Unlike many other agencies, we don’t pigeonhole ourselves as a ‘fashion agency’ or ‘celebrity agency’. In fact, we specialise in just one thing: Getting our clients into the press.

So take a rummage in our box of clients and brands we’ve sprinkled magic over, since The Cult was born. We’re sure you’ll find something that tickles your pickles.

Events

Whoever said ‘work hard, play hard’ obviously knows ALL about The Cult, where we’re lucky enough to do both at the same time, throwing huge events that are as fun as they are effective for our clients.

Events mean that we can show off our clients in a relaxed environment and still gain huge column inches in the next day’s papers. We don’t have a formula for our events - we take each and every one on its own merits and make sure that each and every party is unique, from the venue to the entertainment and everything in between.

So what are you waiting for? Dive in and see what comes out of our brain-boxes and turns into real life:

Dwarves, circus acts and dancers flying high above the crowds might sound like a regular party

Sinitta with the Dream Idols

Online gaming giants Wink Bingo asked The Cult to launch their new advertising campaign, featuring the Dream Idols 'boylesque' group.

Buddy Greco on stage at Angels, Wardour Street

When Peter Stringfellow asked us to assemble the great and good of the journalism world at his Wardour Street club for a night of champagne and lobster as a thank you for support he's received over the years, we knew there would be no end of interest from writers, editors and broadcasters.

Sky Movies Batman Season Launch

Sky Movies needed to herald the launch of their Batman Season with a press-worthy event targeting their core audience of young professional males.

MenKind Ultimate House Party

MenKind is the country’s leading gift and gadget retailers and they asked The Cult to throw a party that would ensure they were at the forefront of journalist’s minds when they’re writing up their Christmas Gift Guides.

Venue Launch Party

Rattlesnake of Angel is an American-themed diner/bar/music venue in the heart of London’s trendy Upper Street. We wanted to showcase everything the venue offers, in one, awesome evening.

Operation Divine Wind, UK mission launch

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is one of the world’s most famous - or should that be infamous - marine conservation groups. And when they wanted to raise their profile in the UK, they came to The Cult.

From The Ashes World Premiere

We organised a star-studded charity world world premiere for the film, alongside Sir Ian Botham’s nominated charity, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research at the Curzon Mayfair.

OK Wedding

TV presenters Michael Underwood and Angellica Bell got engaged in the mighty fine city of New York, and asked The Cult to help them with both their wedding ceremony and the following celebrations.

Vanishing of the Bees World Premiere

Our client, New Black Films, produced a hard-hitting documentary-film detailing the catastrophic consequences of the extinction of honey bees.

Muse Wembley Stadium Show Afterparty

When the world’s biggest rock band finished their globetrotting tour with a show at Wembley Stadium, they wanted to carry on the party all night long in London.

Sunday Times Stephen Jones Party

When lauded milliner Stephen Jones wanted to launch his new range and limited edition Snow Queen vodka bottles, The Cult were tasked with organising a party worthy of a man who has made creations for the likes of Burberry, Roberto Cavalli, Karl Lagerfeld, Lanvin, Vivienne Westwood and Donna Karan

Bat Attack!

Over the summer months of 2010, The Cult ran a series of Sunday clubnights at Camden's Proud Galleries, showcasing some of the hottest up-and-coming bands around.

Chasing Cotards

Chasing Cotards was a short film with such ambitious goals, it was immediately dubbed ‘the biggest short film of all time.’ The Cult handled the PR for this pioneering film, pushing it in to areas previously untouched by the short film market including Little White Lies and Film4.

A Plague on Both Your Houses

Here at The Cult, we’re big fans of Halloween - and that’s why we set out to create London’s biggest and best spook-themed event.

NEWS FROM THE CULT

We like to keep you up to date with what we're doing. It's just a glorified way of showing off, really, but we're PRs and that's what we do. So check back here for our blog posts that'll keep you in the loop with what our clients are up to, what members of the Cult are busying themselves with and, as has become the norm with our company, random nonsense that we find interesting/funny/both.

THE CULT office loves a healthy smattering of American rock, and at the moment it doesn't come any better than Queens Of The Stone Age.

They've just released a little sneaky preview of their new sounds, and it's in the form of a STONKER of a track called 'My God Is The Sun'.

Like Monty Python, we are very much of the opinion that people are not wearing enough hats.

So imagine the high-fives flying across The Cult's office, when the Katie Vale Designs big cheeses asked us to promote their stunning and handmade, couture millinery.
