We first teamed up with the phenomenal New Black Films on the hugely successful PR campaign for their Vanishing of the Bees documentary, when The Cult PR was just a twinkle in God's massive eye.
And we worked so well together, we are now doing the PR for all of the filmic gems that are bursting out of the award-winning production company, like particularly moreish popcorn.
New Black Films specialize in feature film and documentary production, twisting existing genres to explore topical issues in challenging, provocative and relevant ways, which still have a broad appeal.
And we wouldn't expect anything less from James Erskine, Victoria Gregory and their team.
James is an Emmy nominated film-maker, whose work includes the award-winning TV movie Oil Storm, acclaimed documentary Vanishing of the Bees, independent feature EMR, which won at several film festivals including Raindance, as well as directing various episodes of top BBC dramas, like Robin Hood, Torchwood, Rock Rivals, Holby City and Eastenders.
Victoria's most recent success was the Oscar-winning Man on Wire, where she also acted as co-producer. The former BBC production manager also worked on shows including the BAFTA winning Secret Policeman, drama Space Race and BAFTA winning Dunkirk, as well as the award-winning drama Last Resort.
New Black Films is taking Blighty by storm with One Night in Turin, which tells the incredible inside story of the 1990 World Cup. The documentary movie released in UK cinemas in May 2010 and is based on the best-selling book All Played Out by Pete Davies. England was the guest nobody wanted to invite to the party, their manager was considered a national joke and their fans were hooligans. But over six emotional weeks, Bobby Robson and Gazza created the ultimate underdog story, overcoming scandal, political intrigue and the mighty Dutch to reach a semi-final in Turin, for one unforgettable night.
Other exciting projects we are working on include The Blackening - a tense drama about jealousy, forgiveness, secrets and redemption of a family torn apart by the dark and unique Viking traditions of North East Scotland - and The White Room, a poignant thriller with a supernatural twist, which is set against the backdrop of a mayoral election in which immigration is the big issue.
