Iconic Australian surf label Hot Tuna is back!

The world famous label was formed in New South Wales in the the summer of 1969 and spread on the bodies and boards of watermen in the South Pacific, becoming the first surf brand to go international.

Hot Tuna quickly became a global leader in the nascent surf industry and a progenitor of the neon era of surf in the Eighties, achieving a global cult status which transcends generations with its instantly recognisable 'piranha' logo. And the time is now ripe for one of the world's leading surf brands to bring its quirky and edgy designs back to the UK.

New and returning Hot Tuna fans will be in good company, since fashion icon Elle Macpherson who grew-up with the brand in Australia, loves the brand so much, she worked as executive director of Hot Tuna (International) PLC, and other celebrity fans including A-list actresses Vanessa Hudgens and Michelle Rodriguez as well as Olympic gold medallist Matthew Mitcham have also championed the brand. 

Hot Tuna has also been the brand of choice for pro-surfers including Richie Lovett, Robbie Page, Beau Emerton and Drew Courtney. 

The UK campaign combines the best from the label's rich, surf fashion heritage with a new direction of edgy, surf-meets-urban designs by celebrated designer Oscar Verden. 

The designs celebrates its much-loved Piranha logo in quirky contemporary graphics, as well as the legendary 8108 18in Hot Tuna board-short, which started it all back in the day.

Hot Tuna announced its return with a VIP area at Glastonbury Festival enjoyed by celebs including Lily Allen, and a presence at a variety of top Cannes Film Festival events.

The label is currently available in the UK on ASOS and the exciting new e-commerce site, launched on September 22, features a host of exciting new designs. 

Hot Tuna will also be helming a range of exciting events and stunts over the coming months with some of the world’s top names in showbiz and sport.
