Multi-award-winning label, Joanne Fleming Design’s bridal and evening-wear collections are a Duchess’s French boudoir of sumptuous silks, ostrich feathers and freshwater pearls, bursting with romance and opulence.

These unique, full or tea-length dresses give a modern twist to the silverscreen glamour of the Thirties and Fifties and have earned Joanne Fleming a prestigious Wedding Industry Awards’ Best Bridal Designer title for two consecutive years.

Each bespoke or made-to-order dress is lovingly handmade amid the sequins and Swarovski Crystals at JFD’s flagship showroom in the heart of Brighton, opposite the iconic Royal Pavilion.

Fleming cherry-picks the most exquisite fabrics, from decadent silks in rich colour palettes like Degas Pink and Apricot Frost, to ethereal laces, sourced from France’s most prestigious lace producers.

The label has amassed an enthusiastic following all over the world, since its 2005 inception. And it’s JFD’s extraordinary attention to detail which has captivated the world - even the binding on the tulle petticoats is created with hand-cut silk, rather than ready-made cotton and every embellishment, from jewels to flowers, is expertly worked onto the dresses by hand.

Whether it's breathing life into the wedding dress from a bride’s dreams or creating a heart-stopping gown for the red carpet, the sartorial alchemists at JFD make every client ‘s journey as magical, personal and exciting as the finished piece.

Customers are initially invited to a secret Dressing Room area of the site, to learn about the process and investment and to browse the dresses, which can be completely tailored to their own tastes or custom-made and designed for an entirely bespoke piece.

Fleming herself meets every single client at their first, exciting consultation. To make each customer’s experience as personal and informed as possible, they are then presented with their own, online Fitting Room, summarising the discussion, introducing their personal design and keeping them informed about their dress.

Fleming explains: “Oscar Wilde said, 'She looked like the edition de luxe of a wicked French novel.'

“This is the look I like to create; a mixture of sensuously luxurious fabrics and exquisite hand detailing, all put together with a perfectly calculated amount of fin de siècle sauciness.

“And of course, all reassuringly created from start to finish in our bijou Brighton atelier.”
