All Saints, Ronnie Scott’s and Tosca by Puccini complete four day line-up

Summer Sessions at Chiswick House & Gardens is set to get the warmer months started with a spectacular line-up of entertainment from the 15th to 19th of June. 

The new four-day festival has a little something for everyone - from Soho venue Ronnie Scott’s taking over for one special night of jazz, to opera, pop-rock and a fun family day out. 

Summer Sessions at Chiswick House & Gardens is the first in a series of Summer Sessions festivals taking place around the UK in 2016. 

Chiswick House & Gardens is a magnificent Neo-Palladian villa set in beautifully restored 18th Century gardens in West London. The idyllic gardens will play host to an open-air stage in front of which guests are encouraged to relax with a picnic and enjoy the wide range of entertainment under the warm summer skies. 

Day one and two: Opera in the Gardens (Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th June) 

Kicking off the festival is the much-loved Opera classic, Tosca by Puccini. Described by Joseph Kerman as a “shabby little shocker,” Tosca is the timeless story of love, murder and deception with a dramatic finale that will stay with the audience long after the final curtain. 

The cast is made up of opera stars from companies across the UK, including award-winning lyric coloratura soprano Jassy Husk, who takes on the title role of Tosca. Also joining the cast is globally recognised tenor and Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts. In a world-first, Paul will deviate from his usual classical ballads to introduce opera to his performance. 

The  show will open the Summer Sessions schedule, with two shows running over the evenings of Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th. 

Day three: Music in the Gardens (Saturday 18th June) 

British girl group All Saints will headline Music in the Gardens at Chiswick House & Gardens. Performing songs from their extensive back catalogue and delve into new hits from their comeback album. 

20 years after Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis and sister Nicole and Natalie Appleton came together to form All Saints and solidify their status in British pop culture, the newly reformed group are back with a brand new album are are proving to be more in demand than ever. 

Day four: Family Fun Day (Sunday 19th June - daytime) 

The whole family is welcome on Sunday’s Family Fun Day. Kids will be entertained by family-favourites Peppa Pig, Paw Patrol and many more. All these characters and more will be on hand with interactive performances throughout the day to enchant and entertain even the youngest of visitors. 

Day four: Ronnie Scott’s Evening of Jazz (Sunday 19th June – evening) 

In the evening, legendary jazz club Ronnie Scott’s will take over with a selection of the best live jazz vocalists and musicians. 

In 1959, legendary saxophonist Ronnie Scott opened the doors to a small basement club in London’s Soho where local musicians could gather to jam. Now regarded as one of the finest jazz clubs in the world, Ronnie Scott’s will be transported to Chiswick House & Gardens for one night. 

The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra will lead the evening, joined by a number of special guests including jazz trumpeter, arranger and composer Guy Barker, and guest vocals from Georgie Fame, Claire Martin OBE, and Vanessa Haynes.
